THE COWDRAY GOLF SOCIETY
The Cowdray Arms Golf Society (CAGS) was formed in 1989 and currently meets on the last Wednesday of the month to play a full 18 holes at a different course each month (December & January excepted).
Our September meeting is an “away weekend” – usually to France - when we play a different course on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, returning on Monday with a few tales to tell!
Membership is usually £15 for the year. As we are a non-profit making society, fees contribute to prizes, course deposits, subsidising some meetings or the away weekend.
The November meeting, the last of the year, is dubbed the "The Turkey Shoot" when winners are presented with their prize of a “turkey voucher”. The presentations are made following our annual Christmas meal and AGM – a lively event to say the least!
THE COWDRAY WEGS (Wednesday Evening Golf Society)
The Cowdray WEGS meet every Wednesday evening during the summer (outside the Darts season!) to play on local 9 hole golf courses. Start time is usually between 6.00 - 6.30pm.
We play extremely sociable golf where the emphasis is on an enjoyable evening and a beer at The Cowdray afterwards. We aim to have between 5 and 14 players of very varying ability and handicap play matches every week depending, of course, on holidays/weather.
If you are interested in joining either society please ask Alex for details.
